Sam + Chris | Tyler Arboretum Engagement Session | Michelle Laird Photography

Sam + Chris | Engaged

A Tyler Arboretum Engagement Session

When I was in college and just getting into photography I basically LIVED at Ridley Creek State Park. I would be there almost everyday since I had to pass it on the way to DCCC. For years I went there and never knew about Tyler Arboretum – it’s literally at Ridley Creek. SO needless to say I was VERY excited when Sam & Chris contacted me and mentioned that their wedding was going to be at Tyler Arboretum in Media and that they also wanted me to take their engagement photos there!

Sam and Chris are both from Pennsylvania but currently live in Virginia where they met. These two love to hike and are HUGE history buffs – Sam is a history teacher and Chris is in the historical restoration field – pretty cool huh?!

Back in October Chris asked Sam if she wanted to take their rescue puppy, Jessie, for a walk around the historical Chatham Heights in New Jersey. Once Sam and Jessie got a little ahead of Chris, she turned around and there he was on one knee! I love how he incorporated their love for history in the proposal!!

We had such a fun time with these two – it was one of those sessions where we walk away and feel like we have known them for a long time. Congrats to Sam + Chris and we cannot wait for the Wedding at back here at Tyler Arboretum!
